Lily Atencio
Founder & Principal
Born and raised in Venezuela, Lily has always been drawn to the intersection of creativity and function. As a child, she was endlessly curious, forever sketching homes on the backs of napkins and rearranging the furniture in her family’s apartment just to see how a space could feel different. That curiosity eventually led her to architecture school, where she began shaping her passion into a profession.

In 2008, Lily made Toronto, Ontario her home, a city whose vibrant culture and creative energy continue to inspire her work every day. Over the years, her career evolved from traditional architecture into a more personal, tactile form of design, interior environments that not only look beautiful, but feel deeply lived in. She discovered her true calling was helping people transform their spaces into meaningful reflections of who they are.

Drawing on her architectural background, Lily brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to every project. Her work is known for its warmth, intentionality, and the way it effortlessly blends color, texture, and material to tell a story. Whether she’s reimagining a single room or renovating an entire home, Lily’s process is rooted in collaboration and trust, with a strong commitment to honoring both her clients' vision and their practical needs.

When she’s not designing, Lily is most often spending time with her family, her husband and their two daughters, who are always her first priority. Whether it’s a cozy evening at home or a spontaneous weekend adventure, family comes first in everything she does. She finds joy in traveling, practicing yoga, dancing, attending concerts, and exploring new wine regions. A lover of good food and great company, she also enjoys getting hands-on with arts and crafts, and spending time with her daughters assembling LEGO creations, turning everyday moments into something imaginative and fun. Lily believes that life’s beauty is found in the little things, and that same spirit is reflected in the warm, thoughtful spaces she designs.

At Atencio Studio, every project begins with a thoughtful conversation. From there, we move into the design development phase, where we bring ideas to life through mood boards, sketches, and carefully curated concepts tailored just for you.

Once the design is approved, we handle the procurement process, sourcing furnishings, materials, and finishes that reflect both your vision and the practical needs of your home. With a trusted network of trades and installers, we oversee every detail of the implementation, ensuring the final result is as seamless as it is stunning.

Your input matters every step of the way, and we’re here to guide you, answer questions, and make the process enjoyable and stress-free.
